Milano FICTS honors IRIB’s Varzesh TV

The 37th Milano FICTS int’l festival honors Iran’s Varzesh TV affiliated to IRIB.

The 37th edition of the Milano FICTS international festival has honored Varzesh (sports) TV affiliated to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Varzesh TV received the World Best TV Sport Channel Award of the FICTS in the Italian city of Milan on Tuesday.

The 37th FICTS also honored Italy’s RAISPORT, Germany’s ARD, Spain’s CCMA - Televisió de Catalunya, Switzerland’s RSI - Radiotelevisione Svizzera Italiana, and Uganda’s UBC - Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.

Iranian titles ‘Six Homes’ by Ebad Adibpour, ‘Goodbye Olympic’ and ‘Mr. Sport’ by Mojtaba Pourbakhsh, ‘Zero to Podium’ (Platform) by Sahar Mosayyebi, ‘Highway’ by Farnaz Amini, ‘Red Rectangle’ by Hassan and Hossein Seyyed-Khani, Fereydoun Najafi’s ‘The Skier’, Mohammad-Ali Hami’s ‘Clawing the Sky’, as well as Rouhollah Akbari’s ‘Jalil and Khalil’ went on the 37th Milano FICTS screen.

The 37th Milan FICTS was held on October 25-30, 2019.

The FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) is the organizer of the event, which is the final phase of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries, including Iran.

Founded in 1983, it is recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC) for which it promotes values of sport through film and television. Some 116 countries are members of the FICTS.

The 12th Tehran FICTS will be held in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympics Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB and the Tehran Municipality in Tehran and on Qeshm Island on June 23-27.
